Hearing information line

The hearing information line is available to all doctors who’ve been referred to the MPTS for a tribunal hearing.

It enables you to speak to somebody, free of charge, about what to expect when you attend your hearing and how best to prepare for your tribunal hearing.

We commissioned this service, which is run by student volunteers from BPP University School of Law, particularly to help doctors who intend to represent themselves at their hearing.

You can use the service to:

  • learn about the hearing process, including the key stages
  • find out what to expect at the hearing centre on the day of your hearing

How to access this service

Please send an email to: doctorinfoservice@my.bpp.com, with brief details of your query and include your contact phone number.

Volunteer call back

The call back service operates on weekdays (Monday to Friday).

A volunteer will call you within 24 hours of receipt of your email message, between the hours of 10am  and 4pm.

If you get in touch over the weekend or after 4pm you will be contacted the next working day. If there are any times when you're not available to receive a call back, please state this clearly. Volunteers can't comment on the specific circumstances of your case or give you legal advice.

There's more information about preparing for interim orders and medical practitioners tribunals, and options for support and representation, in these guides.
