Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that on 29 March 2015 Dr Mullen failed to provide good clinical care to Patient A in a number of respects including by discharging Patient A when she should not have done. It is further alleged that on the same day Dr Mullen failed to advise that Patient A’s mother should immediately return Patient A to the Emergency Department as Patient A had vomited on their return home. It is also alleged that on 27 June 2016 Dr Mullen signed a witness statement stating that during the above telephone call she had advised Patient A’s mother to ‘return to the Emergency Department if concerned’. It is alleged that that this statement was dishonest.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
