Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on or around 27 February 2017, Dr Chit failed to adequately review Patient A’s medical records before carrying out the procedure to implant a single chamber pacemaker. Further, he destroyed notes from Patient A’s medical records that indicated a dual chamber pacemaker should have been implanted.
It is alleged that Dr Chit knew that the notes he destroyed indicated he had implanted a different type of pacemaker than was intended. It is also alleged that it was not appropriate to destroy the notes referred to and that his behaviour was dishonest.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
All decisions are published online within 28 days of the conclusion of the hearing.
