Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that on 6 July 2015, Patient A, who was a vulnerable patient, attended a consultation with Dr Mbah, who was working as a locum GP at Lister House Surgery. Following this consultation, it is alleged that Dr Mbah obtained Patient A’s mobile telephone number by accessing her medical records and sent her messages via WhatsApp on multiple occasions. It is also alleged that Dr Mbah telephoned Patient A, asked her to meet him for a drink, met with Patient A outside her mother’s house and asked her not to tell anyone. It is alleged that Dr Mbah’s conduct was for the purpose of pursuing an improper relationship with Patient A.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
