Pre hearing information

The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that in 2015, Dr Pooley received the sum of £35,000 from the Southern Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group in respect of a project he was developing. It is alleged that between January 2015 and March 2018, Dr Pooley made a number of statements in relation to the progress of the project before admitting in September 2018 that he could not deliver the project. It is alleged that his conduct was dishonest and financially motivated.

It is further alleged that on or around 16 February 2018, Dr Pooley made dishonest statements when completing a questionnaire form in order to obtain a prescription from an online pharmacy.

This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.

All decisions are published online within 28 days of the conclusion of the hearing.

If you're a journalist and need up to date information about the allegation throughout the course of the hearing, please contact our press office at pressoffice@mpts-uk.org or call 0161 250 6868.

Private hearings
