Pre hearing information

Allegation

The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on one or more occasion between July and October 2019, Dr El Refaey consulted with 29 patients and prescribed medication for the medical termination of a pregnancy. It is alleged that Dr El Refaey failed to complete the relevant paperwork, failed to arrange for a second medical practitioner to complete the relevant paperwork and failed to send the relevant paperwork to the Chief Medical Officer within 14 days of the termination.

It is further alleged that in or around October 2019, Dr El Refaey dishonestly informed Dr D that he was completing the relevant paperwork and ensuring it was signed by a second medical practitioner and the patient’s GP.
