Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, in June 2013 Dr Ajufo failed to recognise that Patient A’s Cardiotocography (‘CTG’) indicated a fetal heart rate at all; an abnormal fetal heart rate; the fetal heart rate as separate from the heart rate of Patient A. It is further alleged that Dr Ajufo failed to take the condition of the fetus or the abnormal CTG into consideration, and did not record the abnormal CTG in the patient’s medical records.
It is further alleged that Dr Ajufo attempted to perform an ultrasound scan when it was not clinically indicated. The tribunal will also consider an allegation that Dr Ajufo did not understand how the scanning machine used to perform the ultrasound worked and was unable to describe how it worked to the consultant on duty.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
All decisions are published online within 28 days of the conclusion of the hearing.
