Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on 8 August 2018 at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court, Dr Thompson was convicted of driving a motor vehicle on 13 April 2018 after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his blood, namely 158 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit contrary to section 5(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Act 1998 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
It is alleged that on 8 August 2018, Dr Thompson was sentenced to pay a fine to the sum of £1,500.00 and disqualification from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 40 months. It is further alleged that Dr Thompson was convicted of the offence whilst subject to a warning from the GMC.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
