Pre hearing information


The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on one or more occasion between 14 December 2012 and 19 September 2014, Dr McAllister dishonestly removed vials of midazolam from Ninewells Hospital.

It is further alleged that on 9 May 2015, Dr McAllister inappropriately provided Mrs A with controlled drugs, namely codeine, tramadol and diazepam. It is alleged that Dr McAllister's actions contributed to Mrs A's death.

It is also alleged that on 2 May 2019, at Dundee Sheriff Court, Dr McAllister was convicted of driving whilst unfit to drive through drink or drugs and without due care and attention or reasonable consideration for others. It is alleged that Dr McAllister’s sentence included 100 hours unpaid work and a 12 month driving disqualification.

Finally, it is alleged that on 17 September 2019, at Dundee Sheriff Court, Dr McAllister was convicted of four counts of importation or being concerned in the importation of a Class A drug. It is alleged that Dr McAllister’s sentence included 210 hours unpaid work, a community payback order and two years' supervision.



This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
