Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on 10 April 2019 at the North Kent Magistrates’ Court, Dr Aiyathurai was convicted of one charge of theft by employee and one charge of furnishing false information relating to accounts.
It is also alleged that, on 3 June 2019 at the Maidstone Crown Court, Dr Aiyathurai was sentenced concurrently on each charge to 18 months’ imprisonment suspended for two years; to carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work; to a tagged curfew for four months.
The tribunal were unable to conclude proceedings and will reconvene at the sanction stage on 25 February 2021.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
All decisions are published online within 28 days of the conclusion of the hearing.
