Pre hearing information

Allegation

The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, between 2001 and 2010, Dr Goldman was employed as the Chief Executive at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. It is alleged that in 2004 and during the period 2007 to 2009, Dr Goldman failed to protect patients from the risk of harm posed by Mr A's breast surgical practice.

It is also alleged that from June 2007 onwards, Dr Goldman failed to protect patients from the risk of harm posed by Mr A, in that he did not report the concerns relating to Mr A’s breast surgical practice to the GMC.

It is further alleged that in July 2009, following the implementation of a protocol to identify patients who had undergone a cleavage sparing mastectomy or subtotal mastectomy, Dr Goldman failed to protect patients in that he allowed Mr A to review and refer patients himself under the protocol.

Please note: This is a joint hearing with Dr Ian Cunliffe. Information about the allegation against Dr Cunliffe can be found here.
