Pre hearing information

Allegation

The tribunal will reconvene to consider its consideration of the allegation that between January 2013 and July 2017 Dr Qureshi practised as a consultant ophthalmologist at the London Eye Hospital and during the same period he was the sole director and shareholder of London Eye Hospital Limited (‘LEH Ltd’). It is also alleged that Dr Qureshi was the patent holder of the IOL-AMD lens and the ‘Eyemax Mono’ lens.

It is also alleged that on or around 19 July 2015 Dr Qureshi caused to be published an advertisement for the IOL-AMD procedure in the national press which was unsubstantiated and that he knew was unsubstantiated. It is alleged that in publishing the advertisement Dr Qureshi’s conduct was dishonest.

It is further alleged, that a number of concerns have been raised about Dr Qureshi’s clinical practice relating to his treatment of multiple patients, patients A to X.
