Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that on 28 October 2016, Dr Aziz was performing a surgical procedure on Patient A during which a needle was lost. Dr Aziz was purported to pick the needle up from the floor and put it in the sharps bin; reported to Ms B that he had found the needle; and failed to record that the needle was missing. It is alleged that these actions were dishonest, put Patient A at risk of harm and put Ms B at risk of harm.
It is also alleged that, on 3 October 2016, Dr Aziz removed a pigmented lesion from Patient C and failed to submit it for histological analysis.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
All decisions are published online within 28 days of the conclusion of the hearing.
