Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that between 9 June 2004 and 26 February 2015 Dr Wheeler inappropriately issued prescriptions to Patient A for medication, including Methotrexate, on one or more dates. It is also alleged that, following identification of Patient A’s low and falling platelet count on 14 November 2013, Dr Wheeler failed to advise Patient A to stop taking Methotrexate; cease prescribing Methotrexate to Patient A; refer Patient A to a Haematologist.
It is further alleged that Dr Wheeler failed to maintain adequate records in relation to the Methotrexate he prescribed to Patient A.
