Pre hearing information
The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on 30 November 2022 whilst working at Park Leys Medical Practice, Dr Raguram was intoxicated in a consulting room, drove around the staff car park while intoxicated, and drank from a bottle of alcohol in his car while in the staff car park. It is also alleged that in or around March 2023, Dr Raguram was charged with a criminal offence and failed to notify the GMC without delay.
It is further alleged that, on 18 September 2023 at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, Dr Raguram was convicted of drink driving, disqualified from driving for six months and fined £700.
We expect parts of this case to be heard in private.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
