Pre hearing information
The Tribunal will inquire into the allegation that Dr Rahimtoola provided inaccurate information to a patient and failed to follow adequate consent processes. It is further alleged that Dr Rahimtoola made a surgical error and failed to immediately seek advice from a colleague, failed to record the error and inform the patient and the risk management team about the error. It is also alleged that Dr Rahimtoola recorded incorrect information in the medical notes and that he knew that this information is untrue. It is further alleged that Dr Rahimtoola was dishonest.
This reflects the allegation as it stands at the start of the hearing. The allegation may be amended as the hearing proceeds and when findings of fact are made by the tribunal.
All decisions are published online within 28 days of the conclusion of the hearing.
