The Tribunal found that on 21 October 2022, at Southampton Magistrates’ Court, Dr Kennard was convicted of drink driving and was sentenced to a fine of £2,500 and disqualified from driving for 24 months.
The Tribunal also found that, in 2022 whilst working at Southern Health NHSFT, Dr Kennard failed to inform them that she had been charged with a criminal offence and subsequently made dishonest statements to Southern Health about feeling anxious about driving when she knew she had been disqualified from driving.
The Tribunal further found that in July 2022, Dr Kennard submitted a Registration form to HCL Doctors and failed to declare that she had been charged with a criminal offence. The tribunal found that her actions were dishonest. In addition, the Tribunal also found that Dr Kennard subsequently failed to notify HCL Doctors that she had been convicted of a criminal offence and that she was the subject of a GMC investigation.
Having determined that Dr Kennard’s fitness to practise is impaired by reason of misconduct and conviction, the Tribunal will reconvene to consider what sanction, if any, should be imposed on her registration.
We expect parts of this case to be heard in private.
