Allegation

The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on 19 December 2015, Dr Steer inappropriately operated on Patient A and failed to obtain informed consent for the procedure. It is alleged that, between February and September 2016, Dr Steer pursued an improper emotional relationship with Patient A and his actions were sexually motivated. It is also alleged that between November 2016 and April 2017, Dr Steer engaged in a sexual relationship with Patient A whilst she remained his patient.

It is further alleged that in March 2021, Dr Steer submitted an appraisal form to his employer in which he failed to declare that his registration was subject to an open GMC investigation and suggested that a complaint made against him had been resolved when he knew this was untrue. It is alleged that Dr Steer’s actions were dishonest.
