Pre hearing information

Allegation

The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, on 27 April 2023 at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court, Dr Alkere Nanjundaswamy was convicted of being in charge of a vehicle whilst over the alcohol limit and, on 27 April 2023, he was sentenced to a fine of £2,200, disqualified from driving for 4 months and an endorsement on his licence. It is also alleged that Dr Alkere Nanjundaswamy failed to notify the GMC that he had been charged and convicted with this criminal offence.

It is further alleged that, on 23 August 2023, Dr Alkere Nanjundaswamy consumed alcohol whilst he was on duty in the Emergency Department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

We expect parts of this case to be heard in private.
