MPTS joins the World's Biggest Coffee Morning
The MPTS took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to help cancer support charity Macmillan.
Our staff really got into the spirit of the day bringing in tasty bakes, sweet treats and even some savoury goodies to tantalise the taste buds.
Thanks to the generosity of our staff we have raised £106.17 to help the good work Macmillan Cancer Support does.
Lou Daley, part of the MPTS Community group, said: “Following the success of our Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off earlier in the year, we wanted to continue to support the work of another life-changing charity.
“The generosity of MPTS staff means we’ve contributed to 880,000 Macmillan nurses, as well as benefits advice schemes, support line services and allied health professionals.”
On Wednesday, 25 September our kitchen was transformed by members of the MPTS Community group, who arranged the delicious display and organised the donations.
There was so much to try we had cakes leftover and continued our fundraising into the next day.
Along with tasty treats MPTS staff had the chance to win £10 by guessing the number of berries in a pie. This was won by Beth Culshaw our Communications Manager.
Lou added: “The MPTS Community want to thank everyone wo took part, donated and made the day such a success.”
What began as a solitary coffee morning in 1990 has become an annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and Macmillan’s largest fundraising event of the year.
In 2018 the event raised a huge £26,914,382, hopefully this year’s event will top that
