Guidance for MPTS tribunals 

The guidance within this section is to support MPTS tribunals in reaching fair and consistent decisions. It will also be useful for parties, witnesses and the public to understand how decision making is carried out and what the likely outcome is in different types of cases.

This guidance came into effect on 24 November 2025 and was published on 30 September 2025.


Guidance for different professions 

We run hearings for doctors as well as for physician associates (PA) and anaesthesia associates (AA). There is separate guidance for tribunals involving doctors and those involving PAs and AAs.
