Sanctions guidance
Medical practitioners tribunals sanctions
Our guidance helps decision makers decide what sanction to impose on a doctor. It's used when a doctor's fitness to practise is found to be impaired by a medical practitioners tribunal.
It covers:
- the purpose of sanctions and considering factors
- the issue of warnings, where a tribunal decides a doctor’s fitness to practise is not impaired.
This is a living document and we revise our guidance when it's needed.
