Pre hearing information

Allegation

The tribunal found that, on 18 June 2023, Dr Ogbonmwan failed to provide good clinical care to Patient A during a laparoscopic surgery for a left-sided ectopic pregnancy in that he mistakenly operated on Patient A’s right fallopian tube.

The tribunal also found that Dr Ogbonmwan failed to maintain an adequate record of the surgery and subsequently provided untrue information to Dr D. The tribunal found that Dr Ogbonmwan’s conduct was dishonest.

The tribunal will reconvene to determine whether Dr Ogbonmwan’s fitness to practise is currently impaired by reason of misconduct.
